NJ Man Killed In Parsippany Car Crash, Police Say

The man was traveling westbound on I-80 before veering into a guardrail, officials said.

PARSIPPANY, NJ — A Rockaway man has died after a car crash took place in Parsippany-Troy Hills this weekend, according to the NJ State Police.

NJ State Troopers were called out to I-80 westbound at milepost 44.4 at around 9:15 a.m. Sunday morning, responding to reports of a car crash.

An investigation found that a Kia Sportage, driven by 71-year-old Jon Defalco, of Rockaway Township, was traveling westbound when it "veered off the roadway to the right," crashing into a guardrail. The impact resulted in the Kia being overturned, and Defalco suffering severe injuries.

Defalco died as a result of his injuries, according to police.

Police said that the incident was a "single-vehicle crash" and no other casualties were reported.
