Middle School Locked Down In Morris County
"Concerning statements" about a possible weapon prompted swift action, authorities said.
PARSIPPANY, NJ — Brooklawn Middle School was locked down Wednesday after a student made “concerning statements” about a possible weapon, police said.
On Wednesday morning, the middle school, located at 250 Beachwood Road, engaged in a brief lockdown out of an “abundance of caution” in response to the weapon rumors.
Police said that the student who made the statement regarding the weapon was found and “secured” by school staff, the school security officer, and the School Resource Officer.

Officials determined that there was no active threat, and the lockdown was lifted. Normal school operations will continue as scheduled, police said.
Parsippany police are currently investigating the incident, and there is no further information available at this time.
