Mom Shot Heroin With 3 Kids In Car On Mother's Day: Cops

New Jersey State Police found woman 'slumped over' in parked car in Parsippany, authorities said.

PARSIPPANY, N.J. – A mother of three was arrested and had her children taken from her on Mother’s Day in Parsippany when police say they found her high on heroin.

A New Jersey State Trooper came across Elizabeth Crew, 33, of Fair Lawn, Virginia, slumped over in her parked car in the WaWa parking lot on New Road in Parsippany, Sgt. Jeffrey Flynn said.

When the trooper approached the vehicle and spoke with Crew, he noticed three children in the back seat, Flynn said, and saw drug paraphernalia inside the vehicle.

An investigation uncovered 98 decks of heroin and a hypodermic needle, Flynn said.

Crew was charged with possession of heroin, intent to distribute, possession of drug paraphernalia, and driving while intoxicated.

The children were taken into state custody. Crew was taken to Morris County Correctional Facility in lieu of $10,000 bail.
