PARSIPPANY, NJ — Namkeen Hot Chicken + Waffles, which combines flavors from South Asia and dishes from the American South, is expanding to Parsippany.

Usman Chaudhry and Amena Chaudhri opened the first Namkeen location in Chatham back in 2020, wanting to “bring some heat” to the hot chicken game by adding spices and flavors from Pakistan.

They now have locations in Metuchen and Brooklyn — with the newest Morris County location set to open in late August.

Patrons can adjust the spice levels, the description of which is inspired by Eminem’s “Lose Yourself” — Naked (calm and ready), Mild (palms sweaty), Medium (knees weak), and Hot (BLAOW!)

A menu provided to Patch also included dessert waffles (one with Nutella and banana, one with rose and pistachio) and beverages — Chai tea, shakes, mocktails, and sodas.

"We felt the need for a high-quality halal hot chicken spot in the tri-state area and we are here to bring some heat to the game," the company wrote on their website. "Our passion is creating the ultimate cult street food sensation for those who love it, and to introduce a completely different side of hot chicken for those that are new to it."
