New BJ's Wholesale Club Announced In Morris County

This will be the membership-only retailer's 25th store in New Jersey; it's expected to open by early 2025.

HANOVER TOWNSHIP, NJ — Get ready to start your carts, as BJ's Wholesale Club plans to open a second store in Morris County by early 2025.

Membership-based BJ's sells everything from fresh groceries and household essentials to electronics, appliances, furniture, clothing, toys, and pet supplies. The company, which is headquartered in Massachusetts, announced a new store in Hanover Township on June 25, along with another in North Carolina.

The more than 161,000-square-foot store and its associated gas station will open in the Hanover Towne Center project (formerly Pine Plaza) off of Route 10 in Whippany, according to reporting from the Hanover Eagle and other media sites.

BJ's has 24 other warehouse clubs in New Jersey, including one in Roxbury.

Like with other membership-only stores such as Costco and Sam's Club, BJ's Wholesale Club advertises lower prices on national brands in exchange for an annual fee. Memberships are available for both individuals and businesses, priced at $55 per year for a Club Card and $110 per year for a Club+ Card, according to the company website.

Bill Werner, who is the company's Executive Vice President of Strategy and Development, said BJ's "is excited to deliver the unbeatable value our membership offers to even more families."

“As we continue to expand our footprint along the East Coast and beyond, we look forward to helping more families save up to 25 percent off grocery story prices every day," he said in a statement.
