New Bubble Tea House Coming Soon To Morris County

ThirsTea, set to open its first NJ location right here in Parsippany, offers 17 flavors of tea, along with slushies, frappés and more.

PARSIPPANY, NJ — A new bubble tea house is getting ready to open its first New Jersey location right here in Parsippany.

The Taiwan-based tea store, Thirstea, is set to be located at 192 Parsippany Road, inside the Green Hill Plaza, officials said.

The company first announced their intention to open in Parsippany last summer, but according to a company spokesperson, they are still waiting for the permits from the city, which has delayed the opening plans.

"We are planning on opening! But we're just waiting on final approval to move forward with everything," the spokesperson said on social media.

ThirsTea, known for its creative and customizable beverage combinations, first opened in 2019 in Temecula. The brand quickly gained popularity among boba enthusiasts with its wide range of offerings, including milk teas, smoothies, milkshakes, slushies, rolled ice cream, and more.

In just four years, ThirsTea has rapidly grown, now operating six locations across California, Texas, and Nebraska. The company recently announced it is expanding further, accepting franchise applications in select states, including New Jersey.

According to its website, ThirsTea offers a wide variey of the following items:

  • Slushies
  • Milk Shakes
  • Milk Tea
  • Smoothies
  • Iced Tea
  • Frappes
  • Souffle Cake
  • Cafe Drinks
  • Snacks
  • Chai
  • Rolled Ice Cream
  • Tea-Presso
  • Boosted Teas
  • Lemonade

ThirsTea's signature drinks include the Rose Matcha Milk Tea, Brown Sugar Milk with Boba, Strawberry Shortcake Slushie, and Masala Chai Tea, each offering a unique twist on classic favorites.

If you're confused about the difference between boba and bubble tea, ThirsTea clears it up: Bubble tea is a tea-based drink, often with fruit or milk, and includes large tapioca pearls or "bubbles." Boba tea, however, focuses on those chewy tapioca balls—known as boba—which can come in flavors like original, honey, or even matcha.
