New Faith-Based Addiction Recovery Center Opens In Parsippany

New Chapter Faith-Based Recovery employs holistic healing to identify any missing pieces that impede addiction recovery.

PARSIPPANY, NJ — A faith-based addiction recovery center has opened its doors in Parsippany.

New Chapter Faith Recovery is a faith-based program that uses Christian principles to help people overcome addiction. Their program provides various levels of care to allow clients to receive the assistance they require before gradually reintegrating into their community.

Mayor James Barberio of Parsippany-Troy Hills cut the ribbon to commemorate the grand opening of this new business, which is located at 1915 Route 46 in Parsippany.

The new recovery center opened its doors on April 17.

“I wish New Chapter much success. Addiction is a serious problem for so many; faith is such an important part of my own life, and bringing that aspect into the recovery process certainly seems like something that will provide strength to overcome,” Barberio said.

New Chapter Faith-Based Recovery approaches drug and alcohol addiction treatment holistically. According to their website, their commitment to providing compassionate care is reflected in their array of evidence-based therapies and programs that are tailored to each client's unique needs.

"We believe that drug rehab in NJ must create an environment where clients feel safe and supported while having access to the knowledge and skills they need to make positive changes in their lives," New Chapter officials said.

Some of their addiction treatment programs include:

  • Alcohol addiction treatment
  • Cocaine addiction treatment
  • Benzodiazepine addiction treatment
  • Heroin addiction treatment
  • Opioid addiction treatment
  • Prescription drug addiction treatment

Last year, Morris County was on track to have the lowest number of suspected drug overdose deaths in years, indicating some relief from an opioid epidemic exacerbated by the stress of the Covid-19 crisis.

However, there were more than 71 suspected fatal overdoses in Morris County last year, and national numbers continue to climb, according to officials.

The statewide Substance Abuse Overview provides statistics on substance abuse treatment in New Jersey for the calendar year 2021. According to the New Jersey Department of Human Services, there were 87,745 treatment admissions and 86,626 discharges in 2021.

The total number of substance abuse admissions in Parsippany in 2021 was 234, which was the second-highest number in Morris County, just 26 behind Morristown.

"Addiction can be a painful and dangerous situation for everyone involved. This is why we take pride in offering healing and recovery for those who need it most," New Chapter officials said.

New Chapter's levels of care include:

  • Partial hospitalization program (PHP)
  • Intensive outpatient program (IOP)
  • Outpatient Program (OP)
  • Individual and group therapy
  • Medication-assisted treatment (MAT)
