1 Foot Of Snow, High Winds, Coastal Flooding Possible For NJ Weekend Storm
Depending on the north-traveling storm's path, the Garden State might miss the worst of the snowfall, according to forecasters.

NEW JERSEY — As a winter storm travels up the East Coast, New Jersey could see a foot of snow this weekend, according to forecasters. But depending on the north-traveling storm's path, the Garden State might miss the worst of the snowfall.
New Jersey could receive light snowfall Friday, with heavier snow Friday night to Saturday, according to the National Weather Service. But the predicted storm still contains plenty of unknowns.
The eastern half of the region has the best chance for heavier snow, according to the National Weather Service. If things come together, the storm could bring 6-12 inches or more.

Gusty winds are likely, but the storm track will determine whether they're potentially damaging, forecasters said. Coastal flooding and beach erosion could also occur.
The National Weather Service expects to have "quite a bit more" information in the next 12-24 hours, the agency said Wednesday morning.

On the other hand, New Jersey may see little to no snow if the north-traveling storm moves 50 miles east, according to AccuWeather.
"The exact track of the storm will not only determine which part of New England will be buried under a foot or more of snow but also whether part of the mid-Atlantic region could end up in the heavy snow zone or just face increasing dry and cold winds from the storm's backside," AccuWeather reported.
Travel conditions could become treacherous as early as Friday night and impossible in some areas during the storm. Travel could remain difficult to impossible Sunday in the storm's wake, depending on how much snow falls and the ongoing blowing and drifting of snow, according to AccuWeather.
The National Weather Service has not released snowfall predictions or a precise timeline for the storm as of Wednesday morning.
