'One Of The Kindest': Parsippany Man, 28, Mourned After Brief Illness

Willian Hua, a software engineer, designed his church's website, helped friends with personal projects and played in the church choir.

PARSIPPANY, NJ — Willian Hua always helped others. The software engineer designed his church's website, helped friends with personal projects and played instruments in the church choir.

Hua, 28, died Sunday following a brief illness at Saint Clare's Denville Hospital, according to his obituary. At the family's request, all arrangements will be private.

He was born in Livingston but lived in the Lake Hiawatha section of Parsippany all his life. Hua's Chinese name — HuaWeiRen (華偉仁) — meant "great benevolence," a family member wrote on Facebook.

After graduating from Parsippany High School, he then earned a bachelor of science degree in computer science from The College of New Jersey. The Parsippany resident then became a software engineer and front-end developer with Cognizant Technology Solutions Co. of College State, Texas, his obituary says.

"He valued putting your best foot forward when coming to someone in need," family member Yulin Hua wrote on Facebook. "Willian had one of the kindest and softest souls, and he never asked much of others, only that they try to do their best. He was happiest seeing people thrive together in creating positive memories with one another."

Willian Hua also loved science fiction, zombie horror, military history and fantasy, according to loved ones. He virtually put his zombie-apocalypse and military skills to the test in a range of video games, Yuli Hua said.

"If one day Willian transmigrated into another world, he would be the greatest general and military strategist that the world has ever seen," Yulin Hua said. "With his unstoppable spear and fist, Willian would change the world."
