A local bank shipped about 200 pounds of candy to American troops stationed overseas.

Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage in Morris Plains/Parsippanyโ€™s candy collection in November resulted in 20 large boxes.

Coldwell Banker Sales Associate Nancy Zingone organized the collection and Gregโ€™s Fitness in Whippany collected about 85 pounds of the candy. She got the rest with the help of her officeโ€™s sales associates and staff, clients and other area real estate agents.

โ€œFor the last few years our office has been sending packages to the troops, and the program has grown tremendously with the overwhelming support we have received,โ€ said Zingone. โ€œA lot of people find they have Halloween candy left over because they didnโ€™t receive as many trick-or-treaters as expected, and have decided to give it to a great cause instead of leave it lying around the house.โ€

A lot of donations came from requests for help on Facebook, Zingone added. Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage Cares, the companyโ€™s philanthropic arm, paid to ship the candy to military personnel across the world.
