Newly Appointed Member Joins Parsippany Board of Education
The new appointee was sworn in last week and will serve on the board until 2027.

PARSIPPANY, NJ — The Parsippany Board of Education has sworn in its newest member — Nicole DellaFave.
DellaFave was administered the BOE oath of office on Thursday, when she officially took her place on the dais. After she was sworn in, members of the BOE and audience members welcomed and congratulated her on her new position.
The Parsippany BOE selected DellaFave on July 31, when several applicants approached the board seeking a seat on the entity. She brings 17 years of teaching experience from her time at Lake Hiawatha Elementary School.

This wasn’t DellaFave’s first attempt to get on the board, after she unsuccessfully ran in 2023. Now, she’s been appointed to the board, with her term set to end in January 2027.
“I want to welcome Ms. DellaFave to the board,” said board member Matthew Devitto. “There are plenty of people on this board who’ve had a lot of experience, don’t be afraid to ask for any advice… Welcome.”

DellaFave’s appointment comes after BOE Vice President Andrew Choffo announced his resignation in May, with his final day on the board July 24.
Choffo said his departure from the board was due to a “desire to better balance the demands of my professional responsibilities and family life.”
The next Parsippany Board of Education meeting will be on Sept. 11 at 6:30 p.m. at the Dr. Frank A. Calabria Education Center.
