Parsippany Crossing Guard And School Aid, Resident Of Half-Century Dies At 81

Grandmother moved to Parsippany in 1964.

PARSIPPANY, N.J. – Phyllis Galante called Parsippany home for more than 50 years.

The longtime resident and crossing guard died last week at the age of 81.

Born in Jersey City, Galante grew up in Union City and lived in North Bergen before planting her roots in Parsippany in 1964.

She worked as a school aid and crossing guard for the Parsippany-Troy Hills Board of Education, but most importantly was a dedicated homemaker to her family.

Galante is survived by her husband, Frank; three sons; and 10 grandchildren.
