Flooding Still Possible After Parsippany Gets 4 Inches Of Rain
Although the forecast anticipates sunny skies, area rivers may still flood in the coming days.
PARSIPPANY, NJ — The forecast calls for sunny skies in Parsippany — albeit with a fair amount of wind Wednesday. But in the days after this week's nor'easter, the township could still see flooding.
The Parsippany area received 3.95 inches of rain in the past 48 hours, according to the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection. The storm resulted in Tuesday's closure of Parsippany-Troy Hills Township Schools.
The National Weather Service predicts Parsippany will get a break from the rain — at least until Friday, when the agency anticipates showers into Saturday. But Parsippany remains under a flood warning until 3 a.m. Thursday.
