Parsippany Man Arrested, Charged With NYC Bank Robberies

George Martin, 31, of Parsippany was booked into the Morris County Correctional Facility while awaiting extradition to NY, police said.

PARSIPPANY, NJ — A Parsippany man charged with out-of-state bank robberies is behind bars awaiting extradition to New York City.

According to the Boonton Township Police Department, police assisted the NYPD Major Case Squad and the NYPD/FBI Joint Bank Robbery/Violent Crimes Task Force on New Year's Eve with the arrest of George Martin, 31, of Parsippany.

Police said Martin had an an outstanding criminal warrant for bank robberies in New York City.

An investigation by the Boonton Township Police Detective Bureau determined that Martin was staying at various homes in Morris County, including a residence within the township, police said.

With assistance from the NYPD, Martin was located and placed under arrest.

He was booked into Morris County Correctional Facility pending extradition to New York.
