Parsippany Mayor And Council Nominees To Face Off In November: Here’s Who’s On The Ballot

A contentious general election is slated for November, with two candidates vying for mayor, and four seeking two council seats.

PARSIPPANY, NJ — Another primary election has come and gone, and the unofficial results are in. Here’s who Parsippany voters will see on their ballots come November:

Incumbent Mayor James Barberio clinched the republican nomination after a race with competitor Councilman Justin Musella. Barberio received 3,115 votes, and Musella tallied 2,497.

Facing Barberio in Parsippany’s Mayoral General Election will be Democrat Pulkit Desai. Desai ran uncontested for his spot on the democratic ticket, tallying 3,172 votes.

COUNCIL ELECTION

Four candidates are vying for two seats on the Parsippany-Troy Hills Council — two democrats and two republicans.

On the republican ticket will be Barberio’s Primary Election running mate — incumbent Council Vice President Frank Neglia, who received 2,939 votes, and Musella’s running mate John Bielen, with 2,371 votes.

Neglia and Bielen defeated their respective running mates, Jigar Shah and Kaushik (Casey) Parikh, for the republican nomination.

Running for council on the democratic ticket will be Matt Kavanagh, who tallied 3,075 votes, and Diya Patel, who tallied 3,037. The two ran alongside Desai uncontested in Tuesday’s primary.

New Jersey’s General Election is scheduled for Tuesday, Nov. 4.

All results are unofficial until ratified by the Morris County Clerk’s Office.
