PARSIPPANY, NJ — Here's some reason for Pride in Parsippany: the township is one of the best places in the nation for families, according to Fortune Well rankings released Wednesday.

Fortune's editors ranked Parsippany 15th on its list of 25 Best Places to Live for Families. Parsippany is one of two New Jersey towns on the list, with West Windsor in Mercer County ranking 11th.

The media outlet analyzed more than 215,000 data points for nearly 2,000 cities and towns with between 25,000 and 750,000 residents. Criteria include education, aging resources, general wellness, financial health and livability.

Nearly half of Americans raising children younger than 18 are also shouldering the responsibility of caring for their parents in some capacity, according to an August survey from Harris Poll on Fortune's behalf. This "sandwich generation" — as Fortune calls them — is the target for the media outlet's rankings.
