Parsippany Native Named 1st Team Academic All-American For Bowling

Lauren Marks is the first Caldwell University student to earn this honor since 2017.

PARSIPPANY, NJ — A Caldwell University student hailing from Parsippany has been selected by the College Sports Communicators (CSC) for the 2024-25 Academic All-America Women’s Division II At-Large First Team.

Lauren Marks, a Caldwell University senior, has shown immense skill on the bowling lanes throughout her career. This is her second time being recognized as an All-American athlete, having earned Third Team honors last year.

Marks’ other accolades include being a two-time Central Atlantic Athletic Conference (CACC) Bowler of the Year and a 2025 NCTA All-America Honorable Mention. She also won the NTCA Strike Percentage Leader Award for Division II for 2023-24, with a 48.3 percent rate, and was a member of the organization's All-Academic Team, the university said.

"We are extremely proud of Lauren's accomplishments over the past four years at Caldwell University," said Mark A. Corino, Caldwell University Assistant Vice President and Director of Athletics. "She has raised the bar on both the academic and athletic side for not only our bowling program but for the entire department and University. This honor is well-deserved and we couldn't be happier for her success."

Marks’ prowess isn’t restricted to the bowling lanes, for she’s maintained a 3.95 GPA as a Fine Arts Major at Caldwell University, and was selected as the CACC Student-Athlete of the Month for March 2024.

Marks dominated this season, leading the CACC individual scoring average (20.375 pins/frame overall, 20.189 in Baker, 20.632 in Traditional), almost a full pin more than the next competitor, frame fill percentage (86.5 percent), strike percentage (50.6 percent), spare percentage (92.2 percent) and “pretty much every statistical category the league publishes” according to Caldwell University.

Marks is the first to earn the All-American first team honor at Caldwell University since 2017.
