We asked Patch readers what they thought the biggest safety issues were in their town. Here’s a list of the most pressing problems, from break-ins to traffic jams:

  • "The Cherry Hill Rd overpass over Rt 80, specifically the way the lanes merge together and there are 80 entrance and exits on both sides of the road."
  • "Lack of police enforcement of cars that should stop at pedestrian crosswalks, sidewalks"
  • "Lack of continuous sidewalks along neighborhood roads and pedestrians not using the sidewalks we do have."
  • "The lack of sidewalks, sidewalks that randomly end, and start on the other side of the road. Also, the lack of pedestrian responsibility. Cars aren't 100% to blame for unsafe situations."
  • "I'm reading these comments and I'm struck by how lucky we all are that these are our biggest safety concerns. In so many communities, the answer would be gun violence, violent crime, gang warfare, etc."
  • "People passing through the school zones at high rates of speed to avoid the traffic going to and from sylvan way and the like."
  • "The lights not being turned on around the running/walking path at Veterans Park."
  • "The overabundance of deer and their potential to carry tics."
  • "NJ Transit Busses speeding up and down Minnehaha! Also, the side streets should be one side of street parking, they are too narrow as it is."
  • "Many roads don't have sidewalks it's pretty dangerous to walk on the narrow streets."
