PARSIPPANY, NJ — Unofficial results indicated there will be a new face on the Parsippany-Hills School District Board of Education come next year.

Turnout was high this year for early voting in New Jersey and was expected to be robust across the nation on Tuesday, with a presidential race at the top of the ticket. Voters in the Garden State also have decisions to make for who represents them in Congress, and in local races that affect their towns, public school districts, and counties.

In Parsippany, there were elections for the local school board, three seats on the Board of County Commissioners, and for the Morris County Judge of the Surrogate Court. (If you're looking for results from county races, click here.)

Voters had five candidates on the ballot for local school board, three of whom already sit on the nine-member board.

Here are the latest results for Parsippany, according to the Morris Co. Clerk's Office (current office-holders are marked with "Inc." for "incumbent"):

68.8 percent reporting

Board of Elections - Parsippany-Troy Hills Township School District (Vote for 3):

  • Sheethal Abraham (Inc.): 6,920
  • Matthew DeVitto: 8,246
  • Susy Golderer (Inc.): 6,941
  • Victoria J. Stockdale: 5,427
  • Judy Mayer (Inc.): 7,582

All results are unofficial until certified by the county clerk.

New Jersey voters will also select a new U.S. Senator to replace Democrat Bob Menendez after his conviction on federal bribery charges, and join Sen. Cory Booker (D) in Washington.

All 12 of the state's seats in the U.S. House of Representatives were also up for re-election. Parsippany is in District 11, which is currently represented by Democrat Mikie Sherrill; click here to see the latest results in that election.
