Parsippany School Out Nov. 10-11: Fun, Free And U.S. Flag-Filled To Do
Thing to do that aren't raking leaves-there are plenty of local options to keep kids busy rain, or shine, including Vet's Day activities.

Parsippany Schools are closed November 10-11, 2022, leaving kids with a 4-day weekend. Our list includes free veteran's day activities at the library and our town's Veteran's Day event at Veteran's Memorial Park off Route 46E at 11am on Friday. Be sure to verify all days and times using the links. Here's a list of ideas to keep the kids busy:
Funplex East Hanover is open 11am-9pm Thurs, 11am-10pm Fri, 10am-10pm Sat and 10am-9pm Sun. They offer a “School’s out special” through the 11th, available here.
Sky Zone Pine Brook is open Thurs 12-8pm, Fri 12-9pm, Sa 9:30-9pm and Sun 9:30-8pm. 90-minute tickets are approx $30 and all day passes are approx $45. Remember to bring your special jump socks, or you end up having to buy them.

Imagine That Museum in Florham Park is open Wed-Sun 10am-5:30pm and costs approx $22 and $7 for adults 11+.
Turtleback Zoo is open 10am-4pm daily. $17 adults 13+, kids 2-12 $14, senior $14, under 2 are free.

NJ Rock climbing gym, Fairfield. Student special $10 day pass, $15 with full rental. M-Fri 12pm-11pm, Sa 10am-10pm, Sun $10-8pm.
The Parsippany Library has free tickets to the Morris Museum on a limited basis, or you can buy tickets at the museum ($12 general admission; students with ID are just $8, kids under 3 free). Open 11am-5pm Wed to Sun.
Mennen ice rink , 161 E Hanover Ave in Morris Twp has open skating Friday 4-5:30pm Sa/Sun 11:30am-1pm - weekdays $8 pp, weekends $10, skates $5 rental and skate aid $5.
Florham park roller skating is open friday 5:30p-7:3pm and 8-10pm, Sa 1-3, 3:30-5:30 and 8pm-10pm and Sunday 1-3pm and 3:30-5:30pm. Admission is $10pp and skate rentals are $5.

Did you know Parsippany has 31 parks? Visit Parsippany’s website to see the full list. Some parks my kids liked when they were younger were Crestview Dr (off Littleton Rte 202 between Crestview Dr and Wingate Rd), Knoll Park on the left hand size off the end of Knoll Rd, and if you follow the road into the golf course there’s another park on the left hand size with a parking lot in front of it - it was the park used for “tot time” in the summer camps (not sure if still used).
The Main Library and Hiawatha are both open until 9pm Thurs, then 9am-5pm Fri and Sat. Sunday the Hiawatha library is closed. Visit the library page for full details & to verify activities. Thu 6:30-8pm is kids origami at Hiawatha (must sign up), Friday 10-10:30 at Parsippany is a kid’s veteran’s day program for 5+ with no registration required. 11am-11:30 at Hiawatha is veteran’s day card making for soldiers for 6+. Friday is origami at Parsippany 2-3:30pm, with registration required. Saturday storytime ages 1-4 at Hiawatha. Drop-in fall crafts at Parsippany library 10-10:45. Saturday 1-3pm adults & teens origami at Parsippany (registration not needed)
Mayor Barberio invites everyone to Parsippany's Veterans Day Ceremony. The ceremony is Nov 11th at 11am at Veterans Memorial Park located at 1839 Rt 46 East at the intersection of Vail Rd.
St. Ann's Church, 781 Smith Rd in Parsippany holiday craft fair November 11 (5pm-9pm) and 12 (9am-3pm). The fair will feature 40+ Craft Vendors, bake sale, tricky tray, Pete’s Kitchen, 50/50 and handmade crafts.
