Parsippany Superintendent Set To Leave District In The New Year
Superintendent Robert Sutter will retire effective July 1, 2025, according to a statement from the district's board of education.

PARSIPPANY, NJ — The Parsippany-Troy Hills School District is bracing for another leadership transition as Superintendent Robert Sutter announces his upcoming retirement.
Sutter, who has been the superintendent of schools since June 2023, plans to retire on July 1, the K-12 district announced last week.
"It has been a privilege to be a part of this educational community and to work alongside such a talented team of professionals throughout the district," Sutter said in an emailed statement. "I am grateful for the opportunities for growth and development that the Parsippany-Troy Hills Township School District has provided over the last nine years."

Sutter, the former assistant superintendent of Human Resources, was promoted to the top position shortly after Superintendent Barbara Sargent departed for the West Morris Regional High School District.
Sutter expressed his gratitude for the opportunity and the Parsippany community when he announced his resignation at last week's meeting.

"Through the spirit of teamwork, a commitment to fairness, honesty, and kindness, I believe the district has flourished. The PTHSD is a fantastic place, and I know the district will continue to thrive for many years to come," he said. "From the bottom of my heart, that you for allowing me the opportunity to be a part of this wonderful team of dedicated professionals."
In a message to the community, school board President Andrew Choffo announced that the process to search for a new superintendent would begin in January.
The Parsippany-Troy Hills Township School District serves over 7,000 students across its ten elementary schools, two middle schools, and two comprehensive high schools.
