Parsippany Woman Bit, Spat On Cop During Arrest, Police Said
The woman was wanted on several criminal warrants before the altercation, officials said.
WAYNE, NJ — A Parsippany woman who was being arrested for active warrants bit and spat on the arresting officers, according to the Wayne Police Department.
On Tuesday, around 6:15 p.m., police noticed Galaxistar Douglas, 27, sitting in a Volkswagen outside of the Quality Inn on Route 46 in Wayne. Officers recognized Douglas from a previous arrest, and a warrant check found that she had several active criminal warrants for her arrest.
When police attempted to arrest Douglas, she became “argumentative” and said she was not going to let them arrest her, police said.

Police were able to get her out of the Volkswagen; however, she continued to fight, and eventually bit one of the officers on the arm as he tried to handcuff her, according to authorities.
Officers were finally able to get cuffs on Douglas, and as she was being taken to the police car, she began spitting and screaming, spitting on one officer’s face, officials said.
Douglas was eventually brought to a hospital for evaluation, along with the officer who was bitten. Once released from the hospital, Douglas was taken to the Passaic County Jail.
She is charged with criminal mischief, two counts of aggravated assault, resisting arrest, obstruction of a governmental function, and throwing bodily fluids at law enforcement.
