Parsippany's Alex Goebel Earns Jr Olympic Fencing Spot
The Parsippany resident has been named to the Junior Olympic fencing team.

Parsippany, NJ resident and Morris Catholic Junior, Alex Goebel (center), won the Cadet tournament of the NJ Division, US Fencing Association, Junior Olympic Qualifier on Sunday, November 26th. Alex had a tough fight in the elimination section of the Cadet tournament facing challengers from across the State. In the final bout Alex came from a 7-1 deficit to come back and win in dramatic fashion 13-15.
The Junior Olympic Fencing Tournament will be held February 16-19, 2018 at the Memphis Cook Convention Center, Memphis Tennessee. Alex will test his Epee fencing skills against the best in the country. This is Alex Goebel's second time participating in this most competitive Fencing event!
Alex will be fencing with the Morris Catholic Fencing team for the High School season this winter in preparation for this Junior Olympic test.
