Police Hiring For Entry-Level Officer Position In Parsippany

PARSIPPANY, NJ — The Parsippany-Troy Hills Police Department is looking to bring a new officer onto the force.
The police department is seeking entry-level and certified police officers to join the department to fill vacancies.
The selection process for candidates includes a thorough background check, an oral interview, and a medical exam (which includes a drug screening and psychological exam).

Applicants must be between the ages of 18 and 35, hold a valid New Jersey driver's license, and either have at least 60 credits from an accredited college or university or have completed four years of active military service with an honorable discharge, in addition to a high school diploma or GED.
They must also be U.S. citizens and currently reside in Morris or Sussex County.

Those who are Police Training Commission-certified as a regular full-time police officer will not be considered, the job posting stated. This condition excludes applicants who only attended a Special Law Enforcement Officer I or II academy.
The salary for this position is currently listed at $44,878 for the first six months of employment.
