Popular Thai Restaurant Shuts Down After Years In Morris County
The popular Boonton restaurant, Thai Ping, has officially closed its doors.

MORRIS COUNTY, NJ — A popular Thai restaurant in Boonton has closed its doors, bringing an end to a more than 20-year run.
Thai Ping, which is located at 811 Main Street in Boonton, is well known by the local community for its native Thai dishes and welcoming owners.
Calls placed to the restaurant on Wednesday were forwarded to a voicemail system. Sinofilia Tea, a nearby shop, also announced the restaurant's closing in an Instagram post.

According to reports by North Jersey Media Group, the eatery closed down this past weekend on Saturday, July 29, after owners Supatra "Kim" Saikum and her husband Ong made the decision to retire.
Customers were shocked and disappointed to learn of the restaurant's closure, commenting on social media saying, "This saddens me as it’s my favorite local Thai and the owners are so sweet," and "When I was pregnant, we would get food here weekly and it was always packed. This is really heartbreaking."

Thai Ping's menu was full of classic Thai dishes, including a variety of curry dishes, Pad See Ew and Pla Lard Prik.
The future plans for the 1,500-square-foot space have not yet been made public.
