Republicans Maintain Control In Parsippany: Unofficial Results

The Republicans remain in control of the Parsippany-Troy Hills Township Committee.

PARSIPPANY, NJ — Republicans will maintain control in Parsippany-Troy Hills Township after handily winning Tuesday's election, according to unofficial results from the Morris County Clerk's Office.

With two incumbents departing in this year's elections, the current town council will be shaken up.

Republican Paul Carifi Jr. was the sole re-election contender, with long-time councilman Michael dePierro and council president Loretta Gragnani stepping down.

Democrats Judy Hernandez, Bernie Clarkin, and Matt Kavanagh challenged Carifi Jr. and fellow Republicans Adam Kandil and Matt McGrath.

During their campaigns, Hernandez, Clarkin and Kavanagh all spoke out against the tax increases, claiming that the current mayor and council ran on a fiscally conservative platform for Parsippany voters.
