PARSIPPANY, NJ — An early-morning police chase that spanned several Morris County communities ended with the suspect's vehicle crashing on Route 10 in Parsippany, officials said.

Three people inside the vehicle were seriously injured, according to the Morris County Prosecutor's Office.

The car then caught on fire, and a Patch editor at the scene witnessed burn damage to the highway divider.

First responders transported three people inside to Morristown Medical Center with serious injuries, said a spokesperson with the MCPO.

No officers were reported to be injured, and the crash is still under investigation.

The intersection and all lanes of both roads had reopened by the evening.

Parsippany Police will post road closure updates on their Facebook page.

The pursuit reportedly began when the would-be burglars set off the alarm at Couture Traders in Roxbury, with owner Nolan Forlenza telling ABC7 that his store has been targeted multiple times. A fourth person was arrested near the store, that report said.
