
PARSIPPANY, NJ — Another Election Day has come and gone, and with it brings a brand new Board of Education in Parsippany.
Six candidates vied for three seats on the board, including three incumbents.
One of the three incumbents, Jack Raia, was not reelected.

See the unofficial results below, provided by the Morris County Clerk’s Office (*denotes incumbent):
- *Jack S. Raia – 4,530 votes (13.43 %)
- *Alison Cogan – 7,382 votes (21.88 %)
- *Michelle Shappell – 7,188 votes (21.31 %)
- Lamia R. Elharairi – 5,067 votes (15.02 %)
- Dhaval Shah – 5,196 votes (15.40 %)
- Susy Golderer – 4,188 votes (12.41 %)
A total of 33,734 votes were cast in Parsippany’s BOE election, including 183 write-in votes.

The only newcomer to get elected was Dhaval Shah, who pulled just ahead of fellow newcomer Lamia R. Elharairi by 129 votes.
Returning Board President Alison Cogan, board member Michelle Shappell, and newcomer Shah will be sworn in at the Board’s reorganization meeting in January.
All results are unofficial until certified by the county clerk.
