Snow In Parsippany On Super Bowl Sunday? Here's The Latest Forecast

PARSIPPANY, NJ — The weather looks fine for the big game at California's SoFi Stadium. But if you made Super Bowl Sunday plans in the Parsippany area, you might have to account for snow.

There's a chance of snow in Parsippany from early Sunday morning, which could extend into the game's 6:30 p.m. kickoff. But the National Weather Service doesn't predict much accumulation.

Here's what the agency predicts as of Friday afternoon:

But AccuWeather predicts a chance for snow to accumulate in parts of New Jersey, according to AccuWeather. And that could mean travel issues Sunday into Monday.

"At this time, AccuWeather meteorologists expect 1-3 inches of snow will fall from the West Virginia and North Carolina mountains, northeastward through much of Virginia, Maryland and Delaware to central and southern New Jersey, Long Island, New York, and southeastern New England mainly on non-paved surfaces, especially in the cities," AccuWeather reported Friday.

Here's the National Weather Service's forecast for Parsippany as of 2:30 p.m. Friday:

• Friday night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 43. South wind 5 to 10 mph.
• Saturday: Partly sunny, with a high near 56. West wind 5 to 10 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph.
• Saturday night: A chance of snow, mainly after 1 a.m. Increasing clouds, with a low around 27. Northwest wind around 5 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40 percent. New snow accumulation of less than a half-inch possible.
• Sunday: A chance of snow, mainly before 1pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 34. North wind around 5 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40 percent. New snow accumulation of less than a half-inch possible.
• Sunday night: A slight chance of snow before 1 a.m. Partly cloudy, with a low around 14. Chance of precipitation is 20 percent.
• Monday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 27.
