Star Student Athlete: Parsippany's Ella Cistaro Loves To Assist Others

PARSIPPANY, NJ — We all know student athletes who also bring their A-game to other parts of their lives.

Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize these heroes making a difference in their communities. We’re working to let all your neighbors know the individual stories behind the leaderboard.

How do you know the star student athlete?

My granddaughter.

What sport does the star student athlete play?

Volleyball and lacrosse.

Why do you believe the star student athlete should be recognized?

Ella lost a younger sibling at a young age and going forward she believed that spreading kindness was important to her. Since beginning Parsippany High School, she has excelled at many things besides her two sports, including but not limited to:

• Unified Phys Ed - 4 years of volunteering to assist students with special needs in gym class with physical and social skills.
• Peer Buddy - 4 year involvement - engages in activities and outings with students with special needs to help them with life skills, relationship building and social skills.
• Orientation Ambassador - Welcomed freshmen to PHS with tours, icebreakers and activities.
• Coach Appointed Varsity Captain for Volleyball & Lacrosse 2021 & 2022
• Appointed by PHS Athletic Director to represent PHS at the 2022 NJSIAA Title IX Luncheon.

What's one thing you want everyone to know about the star student athlete?

Ella is a young woman who truly cares for her family, friends and people who need a helping hand. She is beautiful inside and out. To her KINDNESS matters!
