Stranger Danger Alert Sent To Rockaway Twp Families

School officials are warning students to take precautions when approached by strangers.

ROCKAWAY, NJ — Rockaway Township schools are warning students about stranger danger after a man approached a student before school.

Officials say the student was near Mount Hope Ave around 10:20 a.m. on Wednesday when a man driving an SUV approached the student. "The student exercised good judgment and is safe," officials said.

They did not detail the conversation, and did not describe the incident as a luring attempt.

The man was described as "an African-American Male of undetermined age" driving a "white full-sized four door SUV."
