Thousands Lose Power In Parsippany Amid Heat Wave
Around 3,500 Parsippany residents lost power Monday during the brutal heatwave.

PARSIPPANY, NJ — Thousands of Parsippany customers lost power Monday amid New Jersey’s extreme heat wave.
According to First Energy Corporation, around 3,500 outages were reported in the Parsippany-Troy Hills area yesterday. The company serves approximately 25,000 customers in the area.
The blackouts are typically the result of a strong demand for electricity, particularly for air conditioning usage. As a result, thousands of New Jersey residents went without power yesterday, with some still in the dark on Tuesday.

According to First Energy Corporation, most of Parsippany’s power was restored by Tuesday morning, and currently, there are no outages reported in the area.

Officials continue to warn residents that Wednesday’s temperatures are expected to remain dangerously high. The heat advisory is expected to be lifted Wednesday at 8 p.m., according to the National Weather Service.
It’s expected to be partly cloudy tomorrow in Parsippany, with temperatures in the mid-90s.
Cooling centers are available throughout the area. The Mount Tabor Library at 31 Trinity Place, the Parsippany Community Center at 1130 Knoll Road, and the Parsippany Library at 449 Halsey Road are offering cool shelter during the heat advisory.
