Trio of Dems Will Restore Parsippany Council, Resident Says

Letter to the editor says voters should think outside the box, take long look at challengers in Tuesday vote.

Dear Editor,

For anyone in Parsippany that has been frustrated by the years of bickering, wasted time and tax payer money that has been spent between the two feuding sides of the Republican party on our township’s council….there is an alternative. There are a group of individuals who are running for council that do not have a hidden political agenda, an axe to grind, or a plan to use the office to build a political dynasty. They are simply, residents, like you and me, who would like to serve on the council to restore Parsippany’s credibility and to improve the lives of its residents.

Janice McCarthy, Greg Elbin and Nick Kumburis are running for town council as Democrats. All 3 candidates are longtime residents, are intelligent and respected members of the community. They all have advanced Master’s Degrees. Unlike some of the Republican candidates, they are not beholden to SuperPacs or special interests.

Nick Kumburis, a Lake Parsippany resident, is a US Navy veteran, has a degree in biology and chemistry and an MBA from Rutgers School of Business. He and his wife, Sue, have 2 children in elementary school, so he has a long term vision to continue to improve the quality of life in Parsippany for families. He’s actively involved in the BPO Elks and has served his Church as a Vice President of their Council. He is employed by PAR Pharmaceuticals and has a strong commitment to attracting new businesses to Parsippany, but protecting the quality of life for Parsippany’s residents. Yes, you can have that balance when you are not in bed with developers.

Janice McCarthy lives in Mt. Tabor with her husband Joe. She has an undergraduate degree in Business from Bloomfield College and an MBA from Fairleigh Dickinson. She has spent her career as a financial professional for Fortune 500 companies. She’s also taught finance at Seton Hall. Wouldn’t it be wonderful to have someone with her skills on the council? Just imagine!

Greg Elbin and his wife Susan are wonderful people who have raised their family in Parsippany. Greg is a graduate of Dickinson College and earned his MA from Penn State. He has taught at Morris Knolls High School for 28 years. Greg is active in the Kiwanis and his church.

These are 3 wonderful candidates with strong ties to Parsippany. They all are running to promote Financial Responsibility, Government Transparency and the Best Quality of Life for Parsippany’s residents. They don’t carry the baggage of years of feuding, infighting, lawsuits and counter lawsuits and the rest of the nonsense that has plagued Parsippany’s town council for the past several years.

This year, I would recommend that all Parsippany residents take a moment to “Think Outside of the Box” and say no to the people who have spent the past few years damaging our town’s reputation. Take a moment to get to know Nick Kumburis, Janice McCarthy and Greg Elbin. Check out their website or their Facebook page. We’re all busy folks, but our town, our families and our neighborhoods are worth the investment of time and there is a better alternative.

Sincerely,
David Comora
