In the category of Chinese restaurants, a popular Parsippany spot was selected in the top three.

Shan Shan Noodles, located at 333 US-46 in the strip mall near Route 46 East and Edwards Road, has been recognized as one of Morris County's best Chinese restaurants by Morris/Essex Health & Life magazine.

The family-owned Shan Shan Noodles, which specializes in authentic cuisine from southwestern China, first opened in 2014. Named after the owner's daughter, the restaurant was founded out of a desire to recreate the hand-pulled noodles they missed from their own upbringing.

Shan Shan Noodles secured the number two spot, narrowly missing first place to Hunan Taste at 67 Bloomfield Ave., Denville. Dao Madison, located at 258 Main St., Madison, rounded out the top three.

The second Parsippany restaurant recognized was The Capital Grille, which earned the second spot for the best steakhouse in Morris County.

Located at 10 Dryden Way, the restaurant spans nearly 10,000 square feet, including private and semi-private space, as well as a lounge. This location adds to the over 60 Capital Grille restaurants across the country.

The dining room is open daily for dinner, with hours Sunday from 4-9 p.m., Monday through Thursday from 4-10 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 4-11 p.m., as well as lunch Monday-Saturday from 11:30 a.m.-4 p.m.
