WATCH: North Jersey Cop Saves Man From Highway Suicide
Riverdale Sgt. grabbed emotional man before he jumped over concrete barrier Monday.

RIVERDALE, N.J. - A northern New Jersey police officer sprung into action Monday when he saw a man in distress and saved his life, all in front of a dashboard camera.
At 11:30 a.m. Sgt. Greg Bogert responded to a call of a man walking in and out of traffic on Route 287 North by exit 53, the Hamburg Turnpike, Riverdale Police said. Once there, Bogert found the man "visibly upset and crying," police said, and Bogert attempted to calm him down.
As shown in the video, the man began sprinting toward the concrete barrier in an attempt to jump off the highway. Bogert grabbed the man, brought him to the ground and held him until backup arrived. He was later taken to an area hospital for evaluation.
