The name is thought to mean "bright stream" or "clear spring". The name being Sherrill.

We need a Governor to Strengthen the Highlands Water Protection and Planning Act, and rid itself of rogue elements in NJDEP, and NJ Political Machines, who would destroy or weaken it. To protect the Highlands Act from repeal or weakening we need to:

To promote a strong Highlands Council, and Highlands Political Communities that prioritizes the protection of Highlands natural and cultural resources
To advocate for a strong Highlands Regional Master Plan and to promote municipal conformance
To advocate for faithful implementation of the Act by NJDEP with its Highlands Rules
To advocate for continued open space acquisition in the Highlands and farmland and historic preservation.
To promote throughout the Highlands and throughout New Jersey a Highlands identity and an understanding of the natural and cultural resource values of the region and why they are important to protect
Nurturing effective grassroots responses to local threats to Highlands resources.

NJ Highlands Water Protection and Planning Act:
The Department anticipates that the Regional Master Plan will address the components necessary to protect the natural, scenic, and other Highlands resources, including but not limited to, forest, wetlands, stream corridors, steep slopes, and critical habitat for fauna and flora.

Mayor Barberio could of had Parsippany in Highlands Conformance back in 2010, but for his ill advised sidekick John Inglesino, and our Governor at the time Chris Christie, enemies of this bipartisan act passed in 2004 with overwhelming support. Parsippany being 100% in the planning area, had everything to gain from this, Instead we allowed our town to be dominated by corporate developers with low standards for environmental integrity.

By Barberio's support for Ciattarelli Protections for our "Town Character Remaining", and most importantly our States Water Supply Protections would have been weakened for private corporate developers . Any wise person can see Highlands makes Home Rule stronger. What is home rule, when big corporate developers decide your Master Plan.

Republicans appear to be man-made climate change denier, despite the science
Ecological sense is the common sense required for our time. All too many politicians lack this sense, and choose some fantasy of endless growth to solve problems of what is in reality economic injustice that serves few and harms many. Ecology is Economy and it not, it is unsustainable, a vacuum. Government is a public trust, a science, and an extended family. Republicans you have failed us, and the times we live of dire necessity of change for the better.
