2022 World Cup: Where To Watch Games In And Near Point Pleasant

Whether you just want to see the U.S. men's team or all the games, here are places that will be showing soccer's biggest tournament.

POINT PLEASANT, NJ — Are you ready for some football? No, not that football — soccer! The 2022 FIFA World Cup begins Sunday in Qatar, and the U.S. men’s team is in the field.

Perhaps you want to catch a game or two over a pint or a hot meal? There are several sports bars in Toms River and nearby, including:

  • Shore House Tavern, 2114 Route 88, Point Pleasant
  • Idle Hour Restaurant & Bar, 2600 Route 88, Point Pleasant
  • Frankie's Bar & Grill, 414 Richmond Ave., Point Pleasant Beach
  • The Broadway Bar & Grill, 106 Randall Ave., Point Pleasant Beach
  • River Rock Restaurant and Bar, 1600 Route 70, Brick
  • Buffalo Wild Wings, 2770 Brick Blvd., Brick

The World Cup usually is held in May, June, or July, but the 2022 tournament is bucking that trend for the first time. The decision to play the tournament in November and December was to avoid the intense heat that comes with summer in Qatar.

It is also the first time the World Cup has been hosted in the Middle East. There are 32 teams that have qualified and are heading to Qatar to compete. All the games will take place between 5 a.m. and 2 p.m. EST.

The matches will be televised on either FOX or Fox Sports 1 (FS1) in English as well as in Spanish on Telemundo. You can also stream games on Peacock, Fubo, SlingTV, and Vidgo.
