'Always Optimistic': June, Point Pleasant Star Student
We all know students who excel in academics, fine arts or volunteer service. Here's one student who is having an impact in Point Pleasant.

POINT PLEASANT, NJ — Star Students are found in classrooms, on concert and theater stages and at debate lecterns, and out in the community doing good things to make life better for all of us.
Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize Star Students, and we’re working to tell the stories of these outstanding kids to their neighbors.
This submission comes from Joseph Pearce, who nominated his daughter, June, of Point Pleasant.
Why do you believe the star local student should be recognized?
June has learning disabilities and an IEP program. During the pandemic, she struggled just simply passing her classes. Now she's a freshman in high school and is excelling, earning straight As. She joined color guard and competes with the band and has a part in "Shrek the Musical." She has a big heart and cares for her family and fellow students.
What's one thing you want everyone to know about the star local student?
She's always optimistic.
Congratulations on your achievements, and all of our best wishes to you in the future, June!
