Cooling Center Opens In Point Pleasant As Power Outage Continues
The number of homes without power has increased and the estimate of restoration has been extended.
POINT PLEASANT, NJ — The ongoing power outages and extreme heat have prompted Point Pleasant Borough officials to open a cooling center at town hall, the borough announced.
The cooling center is in the courtroom at town hall, 2233 Bridge Ave., officials said in an alert.
More than 2,600 homes and businesses were without power as of 7 p.m., according to the First Energy outage website.
