Crest Pointe Designated as an American Heart Association Heart Failure Certified Skilled Nursing Center
Point Pleasant, N.J., Facility an Area Leader in Cardiac Care

Crest Pointe Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center continues to establish itself as a leader in cardiac care at the Jersey Shore, highlighted by its designation as an American Heart Association Heart Failure Certified Skilled Nursing Center. Under the direction of Cardiologist Leonard Sandler, MD, the specialty care initiative at the Point Pleasant center aims to meet area healthcare demand.
Crest Pointe’s cardiac rehab services focus on promoting independence and quality of life through reducing symptoms and decreasing disability in heart patients. Cardiac rehab is designed to assist individuals suffering from challenging or life-threatening heart conditions, including those recovering from a cardiac event or surgical procedure, and those at risk for cardiovascular disease.
Dr. Sandler possesses decades of medical experience, specializing in cardiovascular disease and nuclear medicine. He is affiliated with Community Medical Center, Centrastate Medical Center and Southern Ocean Medical Center.

The American Heart Association, the world’s leading nonprofit focused on heart and brain health, has invested more than $4.8 billion in research since its founding. Evaluation criteria for its skilled nursing certification was designed by heart failure experts. Certification requirements include program management, personnel education, clinical management, care coordination and performance improvement, as well as patient and caregiver education and support.
