Delayed Opening Announced For Point Boro Schools

Up to 4 inches of snow are predicted for the Shore, with messy driving conditions in the morning on Jan. 16.

POINT PLEASANT, NJ — The Point Pleasant School District has announced a two-hour delayed opening for Tuesday morning, Jan. 16, with weather expected to make driving conditions slippery.

"In accordance with the regular delayed opening schedule, students should report to school or their bus stop two hours later than the normally scheduled time," the district said.

Morning child care will be offered at Nellie Bennett and Ocean Road Elementary Schools beginning at 9 a.m. Afternoon child care is not affected and will proceed as scheduled, the district said.

The National Weather Service is predicting 1 to 4 inches of snow along the Shore, with a switch over to freezing rain and rain in the morning.

Point Pleasant Boro High School: 9:50 a.m.

Memorial Middle School: 9:30 a.m.

Nellie Bennett Elementary: K-5, 10:45 a.m.; Preschool Session I, 11:20 a.m.; Preschool Session II, 1:20 p.m.

Ocean Road Elementary School: K-5, 10:10 a.m.; Preschool Session I, 10:30 a.m.; Preschool Session II, 12:30 p.m.
