Election Primer: Who Is Running In Point Pleasant Borough

Here are the candidates running for election for both the borough council and the Board of Education in Point Boro this November.

POINT PLEASANT, NJ – Election Day is a little more than a month away, and both the Board of Education and borough council races are contested this year.

Four people are running for two open three-year terms on the borough council up for election this November, with current council members William Borowsky and Council President Antoinette DePaola facing Democratic challengers Wayne Martiak and Derek Reichenbecher.

There is a third seat up for an unexpired two-year term with current councilwoman Valerie Coulson running unopposed.

The Board of Education race sees nine candidates vying for the three-year terms with the three incumbents, William Munn, John Florio, and Larry Williams, being challenged by Dawn Coughlan, Emily Seim, and Katharine Vaccarella, Christine Newitts, Kenneth Polakowski, and Peter Hetzel.
