It's Win Or Go Home For Point Beach Little League

Tuesday night's elimination game against Milltown at 7 p.m. can be watched online.

POINT PLEASANT BEACH, NJ – The Point Pleasant Beach Little League lost a tough one as they were defeated by Toms River East Little League 11-0 after four innings due to the mercy rule on Monday night.

According to Point Beach’s manager Troy Dombrosky, the kids from Point Beach knew that they were facing a step up in competition against a team that has been to sectionals before.

“They knew that they were stepping up in competition, but they (Point Beach) were on a roll, having won seven in a row,” Dombrosky said.

Despite the step-up in competition, Point Beach was not scared of the spotlight of the sectional tournament, even though this is the first time that Point Pleasant Beach has made it this far as a lot of the players have experience playing in tournaments.

“They felt like they beat themselves,” Dombrosky said. “A lot of them were focused on making history for Point Pleasant Beach.”

They play Milltown tonight at 7 p.m., with the winner taking on Tinton Falls, who lost to host Sunnybrae 10-2, on Wednesday at 6 p.m.
