Jenkinson's In Point Pleasant Beach Closes Due To Coronavirus
Could the outbreak impact Easter weekend?

POINT PLEASANT BEACH – Jenkinson’s Boardwalk has closed for the rest of the month. Could the closure impact Easter weekend?
It may be too early to tell what sort of impact the coronavirus may have the holiday weekend, when the amusement park typically offers discount tickets for many of its rides.
As you know, the statement we put out on Sunday is that we decided to close through the end of March," said Toby Wolf, a spokesman. "As the situation evolves we will be making decisions on extending the closure if need be."

"With that said, we have decided to postpone the Egg Hunt which was scheduled for April 5th," he said. "The Easter Sale will be held online only."
Jenkinson's says it considers customers, guests and staff "the heart of our operations." Because of this, the park has decided to put everyone’s health and well-being first.Read more: NJ Coronavirus Updates: Here's What You Need To Know

"Out of an abundance of caution, we have chosen to close our doors to the general public through the end of the month," Jenkinson's said in a statement. "We felt it was important to heed the warnings and take guidance from the CDC, as well as the federal government, and seek to stay ahead of the spread of the COVID-19 virus."
The window to contain the spread is narrow and "it is our hope that our actions will help to flatten the curve," the park said.
As mentioned in a previous statement, Jenkinson’s will remain in close contact with local governmental agencies, will continue monitoring events daily and will take proper precautions as this situation continues to evolve.
"During this time, we are asking our staff to practice responsible social distancing. Essential personnel will be monitored and anyone who is sick will be required to stay home," the park said.
