JERSEY SHORE, NJ — This is what the early days of summer are supposed to feel like: Sunshine and warm temperatures.

While the official start of summer is still two weeks away, the beach forecast for the weekend of June 6-8 appears to offer a good taste of the weeks to come. Here is a look from Patch at the beach forecast for the weekend.

The National Weather Service is calling highs in the low 70s this weekend, so you may want to bring a sweatshirt or jacket if you're going to the beach or walking the boardwalk. Showers are a possibility in the afternoons.

JELLYFISH
From the state Department of Environmental Protection and the New Jersey Jellyspotters

Clinging jellyfish are common in the late spring and early summer in the bays, lagoons and along the river beaches. Paul Bologna, the Montclair State biology professor and jellyfish expert, said in mid-May they had been found in sampling at the shore in a post in New Jersey Jellyspotters Facebook group.

Other reports on jellyfish activity have been limited so far.
