Jersey Shore Beach Report: Hot, Humid, And Watch Out For Storms
Here's a look at the Jersey Shore beach forecast for June 28-30 as folks start to gear up for the Fourth of July.

JERSEY SHORE, NJ — Picture-perfect weather that's more spring than summer is leading into the weekend, but hot, humid weather will be back soon.
Here's a look from Patch at the beach conditions leading into the Fourth of July. If you're vacationing at the Shore all week because of Independence Day landing on Thursday, take a look at the preliminary forecast.
The National Weather Service is calling for mostly sunny skies at the beach Friday, with the mild temperatures giving way to heat, humidity and the potential for thunderstorms, with that possibility increasing on Sunday.

Rip current risk is moderate this weekend, according to the weather service. Storms can kick up the surf so be watchful.

JELLYFISH
From the state Department of Environmental Protection and the New Jersey Jellyspotters
The jellyfish presence has been picking up at various spots along the shore, with both ocean and bay beaches affected.
In the New Jersey Jellyspotters Facebook group, people have reported a significant jellyfish presence in Cape May on both the bayside and oceanfront.
A mushroom cap jellyfish washed up in Ocean City, NJ, and dwarf lion's mane jellyfish have been reported in Barnegat Bay.
One woman posted that her grandchildren were stung by jellyfish while in the water at the bay beach in Barnegat. She was not sure what kind of type of jellyfish was involved.
Clinging jellyfish were collected in the Metedeconk River and in North Wildwood in May, but samplings for the jellyfish outside the Metedeconk did not show any of the animal. The state Department of Environmental Protection maps monitoring for clinging jellyfish.
Rip current risk is moderate this weekend, according to the weather service.

Southwest wind around 15 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60 percent. Monday-Thursday: Sunny with high temperatures in the upper 70s to low 80s through the Fourth of July. Lows overnight in the mid-60s.
