Keep Memories Alive By Joining Alzheimer's Walk in Point Beach

Association looking for more walkers for annual fundraiser on Sept. 24

If you think memories matter, walk to help end Alzheimer's on Sept. 24 in Little Silver Park on Arnold and Baltimore avenues in Point Beach.

The Alzheimer's Association is looking for more participants to help "reclaim the future for millions" by making the annual fundraiser a success.

Walkers can go solo or be part of a team in the three-mile, noncompetitive walk that includes entertainment, food and prizes.

The walk route extends from Little Silver Park to the boardwalk and then back to Arnold and the park.

Registration for the walk begins at 9 a.m. and the walk kicks off at 10 a.m. The event ends at noon.

All walkers are asked to make a personal donation and raise funds for Alzheimer’s Association care, support and research programs.

According to the Alzheimer’s Association, Alzheimer’s disease is the nation’s sixth leading cause of death. Five million Americans are living with the disease and there are more than 11 million who are caregivers.

Registration is required. For those registering the day of the event, registration begins at 9 a.m. The walk begins at 10 a.m.
