This is the first year that beer and wine will be sold, including sangria, Coors and craft beers, such as  the Sierra Nevada “Summerfest” brew.

"One great feature of this area, unlike other festivals, is there will be tables with umbrellas for dining and enjoyment inside the beer/wine diamond," said Eileen McCabe of the Point Pleasant Chamber of Commerce in an email to members.

The chamber, 2810 Bridge Ave., pays for and runs Summerfest. This year it contracted the Passion Group to help plan and run the event.

"On behalf of myself and the board of directors, thank you to the many volunteers who will be working the festival tomorrow – we are nothing without volunteers!" McCabe's email said.

Attendees may want to keep their eyes on the stage at 1:45 p.m. for a surprise event.
