A Letter To The Editor From Point Beach Resident Scott Kuzmic

Resident says re-elect GOP Councilman Thomas Migut and elect candidate Paul Kanitra

A Letter to the Editor from resident Scott Kuzmic

I was born and raised in Point Pleasant Beach and have always been a proud Garnet Gull. I left briefly for a few years after college, but then returned just as quickly, because I couldn’t think of a safer, more caring community in which to raise a family of my own.

My wife and I have three daughters who have attended, or are currently attending, the Point Beach school system. I myself am a past president and current trustee of our town’s public education foundation. This background and perspective have compelled me to write this letter today.

Keeping a town like Point Pleasant Beach heading down the right track is not easy work. Keeping our streets safe, our taxes low and our character preserved requires a lot of effort that isn’t always seen by the public. Our family is an objective one and we don’t blindly support the status quo, unless it’s continuing to innovate and be proactive.

Not only is the current mayor and council adept at responding to the needs of citizens, but they are constantly challenging each other to be better. Opposing viewpoints are always heard and all angles thoughtfully considered. This upcoming election has Tom Migut, our current councilman running for re-election, and Paul Kanitra, a long-time resident running for his first term. Together, they provide an excellent combination and I strongly support them both.

Tom has continually fought hard for the residents of this town both on the council and planning board where he serves as chairman. Paul is an inductee in our Education Foundation’s Hall of Fame, a current trustee and has had an extensive career as an advocate for nonprofits, associations and small businesses. They bring both experience and energy to the ballot this fall and will keep our families’ best interests at heart. I strongly urge you all to vote for them on Nov. 7.
