Martell's and Attorney Donate ATV to Point Beach Police

Point Beach police showed the public a new off-road vehicle donated by Scott Bassinder, an owner of Martell's, and local resident Jeff Pompeo.

Police Chief Kevin O'Hara was on the Boardwalk on Sunday afternoon to thank Bassinder and Pompeo, an attorney, who donated the 2011 Polaris, two-seat, 4 x 4 off- road utility vehicle.

"We will be using the vehicle primarily for beach patrol and water rescue," O'Hara said.

The vehicle, with a few options such as necessary lighting, was purchased for $11,500.
